Shivangi Joshi's Begusarai Co-Star Rajesh Kareer Breaks Down: ‘Could’ve Embraced Death Or Found Ways To Live’
The Coronavirus pandemic not only brought lives to a standstill, it also greatly affected many sections of society financially. Non-payment of dues, pay cuts, delayed salaries is something we are hearing quite often these days in the entertainment industry. Apart from that, many people have been greatly affected by lack of work, which means no income and extremely difficult time for those without much savings. A few days ago, Rajesh Kareer, who played Shivangi Joshi’s father in Begusarai, shared a heartbreaking plea through his son’s Facebook page seeking financial help.

Shivangi Joshi reached out to him, and now Rajesh Kareer has informed that he doesn’t need any more money as he needed it to return to his hometown in Punjab. In an interview with Hindustan Times, he said that he won’t leave Mumbai forever since this is where he has worked throughout his life, and cannot learn new skills at his age. However, for the time being, he plans on going back to his native place and start something small, and will also try his hand at Punjabi films.

Rajesh Kareer also said that he had to seek financial help on social media as producers delay payments for a long time, and in such a situation, when one doesn’t either have a solid background or regular work, it gets extremely difficult. “I only had this one option - to openly seek help from everyone. I could have either embraced death or found ways to live - everyone supported me when I chose life,” he said.

Rajesh Kareer broke down talking about it, and he said that choosing death would have made things difficult for his family. “It is not easy to come out in the open and seek help. Khud ko marna padta hai.” He further mentions that acting is all he knows and has done; and he is 50 years old and cannot learn anything new right now. “If you give me Rs 1 lakh per month and ask me to sit on a chair for six hours everyday, I won’t do it. That is not what I am used to doing,” he said. ALSO READ: Shivangi Joshi's Begusarai Co-Star Rajesh Kareer's Plea For Financial Help Answered: 'Don't Deposit More Money In My Account'
